Fresh-Lock® closures, a leader in reclosable flexible packaging technology, has been at the forefront of innovation in the private label and flexible packaging industries for over 35 years. Presto Products, the producer of the Fresh-Lock® brand, introduced the first reclosable sandwich and food storage bags and later launched the popular Fresh-Lock® zipper product line. Today, the Fresh-Lock® brand is recognized as the largest supplier of private label press-to-close zippers and tracks & sliders in the nation, providing major branded and private label packagers a competitive edge.
Sustainability has always been a core focus for the Fresh-Lock team; their commitment to reducing plastic waste and promoting eco-friendly solutions is evident in their innovative product designs. Their closures are crafted to meet the increasing demand for sustainable packaging while maintaining the functionality and reliability that customers expect.
In a significant move to further their sustainability mission, the Fresh-Lock team has partnered with TIPA Compostable Packaging. This collaboration has led to the launch of a new portfolio of home compostable closures, created with TIPA’s proprietary home compostable resin formulation. These closures cater to various markets, including food, nutraceuticals, and personal care. The first two products, Style 8531 with Child-Resistant technology and Style 8035, a versatile single lock design, mark a significant milestone in sustainable packaging solutions.
“By teaming up with TIPA, we’re blending their compostable material know-how with Fresh-Lock’s trusted, innovative designs,” says Lisa Petersmark, VP Presto Specialty, maker of Fresh-Lock® closures. “This means we can offer top-notch home compostable closures that seal well at lower temperatures and are easy to open, yet still provide strong security for pouch contents.”
Rodrigo Castaneda, VP/GM of North America at TIPA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to count the Fresh-Lock team among the innovative market leaders we work with. This is a significant step to help consumers and businesses actively contribute to curbing the reliance on conventional flexible plastics.”
Through their combined efforts, the Fresh-Lock team and TIPA are setting a new standard in sustainable packaging, inspiring industry-wide change and contributing significantly to environmental conservation.
