No, recycling is not the answer to everything

Because the goal of 100% recycled plastic by 2025 seems unrealistic and unachievable. Because policy engagement and citizen awareness are still too weak. Because the constraints on companies are insufficient or unfair, like the eco-tax on compostable packaging. Because the desire to reduce the amount of packaging at the source must be real. And because some materials, such as plastics, cannot enter an “infinite” loop and end up in incineration or landfills, recycling is not the answer to everything, says Daphna Nissenbaum, Co-Founder and TIPA’s CEO.
