Compostable and edible packaging: the companies waging war on plastic

Snact is a London-based company prevented more than 50 tonnes of apples, bananas, blueberries and raspberries from going to landfill by creating snacks from surplus fruit.
Now they have a solution for it’s plastic packaging waste. In partnership with Israeli packaging company Tipa, Snact has launched packaging that takes six months to break down in garden compost. “We have found a way of being disposable without causing environmental damage,” says co-founder of Snact Ilana Taub.

Snact choose TIPA to roll out fully compostable flexible packaging

Ilana Taub co-Founder of Snact said: “We launched our new packaging in December last year with traditional plastic as we struggled to find an environmentally-friendly option that had the functional properties required as well as being food safe. We were introduced to TIPA through another company and quickly released it was the perfect option to build on our environmental and social ethics”
