Fresh Harvest ‘Delivers’ on Reducing Plastic Waste in US with TIPA Compostable Packaging

“Transitioning to all reusable or compostable packaging is a top priority as we continue to grow. TIPA’s products offer the best-in-class in terms of quality and certified compostability. A win-win for our business.”

Fresh Harvest provides weekly deliveries of locally grown organic produce to homes and businesses across Atlanta, Georgia. For the company, healthy soil is at the heart of their entire operation – enabling their farmers to grow delicious, nutrient-rich produce for their customers. The delivery service sources local produce to reduce fuel emissions related to shipping, support their local economy, connect with local farmers and their unique stories, and create a community around Georgia-grown produce and artisan products.

While most of their fruit and vegetables are delivered in reusable bins, Fresh Harvest needed a way to portion and protect more delicate produce like lettuces and herbs. Inspired by their customers, they searched for an eco-friendly package that would allow them to do this without adding to landfill waste and found TIPA’s home compostable bags. They were able to protect their produce in a bag that helps to return nutrients to the soil.

All of the company’s 4000 deliveries per week are delivered within a 70-mile area to customers who live locally in reusable and compostable packaging, and every effort is made to limit the business’s environmental impact.

Fresh Harvest chose TIPA’s home compostable TIPA 302 open bags to pack delicate perishables to keep them fresh during transport. The company also offers a collection service for the packaging to ensure it is composted after use!
