When Aquibio was created in 1994, they took the gamble of entering the organic market because it was a sector that remained true to the founders’ values and ethics. Now, Aquibio distributes its products mainly to independent and chain organic stores, and is the only wholesaler in the sector in France specializing in organic frozen products. Searching for environmentally responsible packaging was a natural extension of the company’s values. After committing themselves to sustainable alternatives to conventional plastic, Aquibio is the first to offer their products in fully compostable TIPA® packaging.
Aquibio had been searching for an alternative packaging solution for its products packed in conventional plastic packaging for years, and tested their product with several suppliers of environmentally-friendly packaging before deciding to work with TIPA®. TIPA® was the first high-performance compostable flexible packaging to be able to provide Aquibio with guaranteed transparency and the reliability that could compare to their previous packaging, as well as the opportunity to use a France-based converted to keep their production local.
Aquibio chose TIPA® open bags made from TIPA 302, TIPA®’s home compostable film to package their frozen fruits, vegetable and mushrooms ranges.
